Family policies
What families ask before the first day.
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
A student with a fever, or who was sick in the night, stays home until the next morning. A teacher calls a parent when a student is unwell at school, and the office tells families when something is going around.
Drop-off and pickup
Families drop off between 8:00 and 8:15, and the day ends at the front door at 3:15. Only the adults on the pickup list may collect a student, and we ask to see ID until we know you. Study hall students leave at 4:30.
Closures for weather and holidays
The school closes for fall, winter and spring breaks and the usual holidays. When snow or ice closes the roads, we text families before 6:30 a.m.
Leaving the program
We ask for a month's notice in writing before a student leaves. The enrollment agreement says how a month in progress is handled.
Screens and phones
Phones stay switched off in a locker from arrival to the last bell. Students use a school laptop for a few writing assignments, with a teacher in the room.
What to wear and bring
There is no uniform. Students dress for a day in the classroom and the studio, with closed shoes for woodworking. An apron for art stays at school.
Meals, snacks and allergies
Families send lunch, and we eat together in the commons. Water is always available. Tell us about allergies at the visit; we ask privately once you enroll.
