How we support students
Six habits that every student shares
We welcome students who learn in different ways. The support is in the routines, so it is the same for everyone and nobody is pulled out of the room.
A checklist for the day
Written in homeroom every morning and ticked off at the end. Teachers cross out and rewrite it when something changes.
Planning time
Forty-five minutes at 11:15 with a teacher at the table, to start homework and break a project into steps.
A note home
Each student writes two lines for home before dismissal. A teacher writes one too if there is something to tell.
Extra time
On an assignment or a test, a student can ask for more time, and a teacher can offer it first.
A quiet room
A small room off the floor for a break, a test or a conversation, with the door open and a teacher nearby.
A visiting occupational therapist
Spends one morning a week at the school, working alongside teachers in the room, and talks with families who ask.
At the visit
Tell us about your child in person
The form on this site does not ask about your child's needs, and we would rather hear it from you. At a visit morning, tell the head of school what a school day has been like for your child, what has helped, and what has not.
The teachers then plan the first weeks around it. A homeroom teacher meets each family once a term to look at how it is going.

A plan for the first weeks, written with you
